" Der Hinkel Haus "

Our Ladies   ( when coop is done pic will be posted)
I would like to introduce some of our chickens, but before I get to that let me explain why I chose my chickens. We have about 40 laying hens with a few roosters. When we were choosing our laying hens, I was looking for dual purpose birds. Which means they have another purpose then just laying eggs (they're a bonus), they are great for meat. I was also looking for gentle calm and good winter birds. Winter birds is meaning that they do well in the cold winter months. Everyone of my chickens lay a fairly large egg except the silkie, she is my fun, calm, soft, and enjoyable pet chicken. I have a favorite chicken but haven't had a chance to locate one. My favorite is the  Tolbunt Frizzle Polish.
